Kwara Tertiary Education Ministry and CAC Launch Youth Entrepreneurship Drive
The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to empower students and young people through entrepreneurship programmes.
The initiative, titled “Catch Them Young” , aims to nurture entrepreneurial skills among learners from an early age, aligning with the state's vision of fostering economic self-reliance and innovation.
Dr. (Mrs) Mary Ronke Arinde, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, announced the partnership during a meeting with CAC officials at her office in Ilorin.
She stated that Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration is deeply committed to equipping students with the tools and mindset needed to become future business leaders and drivers of national development.
The collaboration will focus on integrating entrepreneurship education into academic curricula, providing mentorship, and simplifying business registration processes for student entrepreneurs through CAC's support.
The Commissioner appreciated the readiness of the CAC to sensitize students to register with the Commission to avail them access to various loans and grants to establish their own businesses even before graduation.
Also speaking at the meeting, the team Head, Mr Tunde Adeoti, appreciated the State Government for accommodating the Commission to sensitize and enlighten students in higher institutions in the State to register their small scale businesses in order to strengthen their future careers in entrepreneurship.
Mr Adeoti stated some benefits of registering businesses with the CAC, including, soft loans from commercial banks, bank of industry, and other international connections, aimed at reducing unemployment in the country.
He urged all higher institutions of learning to key into the programme and encouraged interested students to register with the CAC for a better future.
