The Association in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Abdulwaheed Bibire and the Assistant Secretary, Abdulrosheed Okiki said the Scrabble Competition was organised to foster cordial relationships among the media workers in the state

The Association commended every stakeholder who contributed to the success of the competition.

The council particularly eulogised the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Doctor Ali Ahmad for the sponsorship of the tournament, thanking him for the show of support and encouragement to the Sports Writers in the state.

It expressed appreciation to the State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Bolakale Ayo, Chief of Staff, Government House, Ilorin, Alhaji Yusuf Babatunde Abdulwahab, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olushola Amore, the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, media executives in the state, Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, State Scabble officials and the local organising committee for their contributions in ensuring that the competition recorded a huge success.

SWAN also congratulated the winners and other participants for displaying their prowess and for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during competitions.

At the end of the tournament, Raliat Ibrahim and Femi Afariogun of NTA Ilorin won Gold medals in male and female categories.

Hauwa Alimi of Radio Kwara and Abdulrosheed Okiki of Radio Kwara won Silver and Bronze medals in Female and Male categories respectively while Oluwasegun Alabi of Unilorin FM and Yemisi Oyedepo of KWTV won Silver and Bronze medals in male and female categories respectively.
