SDP will rule Kwara in 2023 - State Chairman, James Dada

Date: 2022-04-12

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, will capture political power in Kwara State in the 2023 election in the state, state Chairman of the party, James Dada declared on Monday.

He disclosed that with new members accommodated from strong opposition blocs within the crisis-ridden ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, recently, the party has continued to soar and wax stronger in the state.

Dada made this disclosure on Monday at the Lanjorin Street office of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, office, Ilorin where he held a familiarisation meeting with national and state officers.

Speaking at the meeting, the state chairman of the party, said the SDP has come to stay in Kwara.

"Kwara State is one of the States where SDP found its footing with massive members.

"It is absolutely necessary to state here without mincing words that some well-to-do individuals were pleased with the manifesto of the party and have agreed to work with us on the same track," he said.

According to the party chieftain, SDP has its membership cut across the 16 local government areas in the state.

Dada revealed that aside from the aggrieved APC members, now in the party, members from PDP have also signified intention to be part of the SDP movement.

"It is in this light that today's gathering signposts the fact that Social Democratic Party has arrived and by the grace of God will rule the state come 2023," he added.

Recently, a major faction of the APC loyal to Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, defected to SDP in Ilorin.
