AD suggests education tax to fund rural education in Kwara
In a release signed by the AD state chairman and state secretary, Mr. Biliaminu Aliu and Mr Michael Ologunde, respectively, and made available to journalists in Ilorin, the political party said that all financial institutions, insurance companies, unions and market people should be asked to contribute a token amount of money towards the fund.
The party, which said the state government should constitute a special committee to manage and monitor the proceeds of the education tax fund, added that it should be tailored to encourage free education in the state.
The release advised that the proceeds should be used to provide teaching materials, laboratory equipment, central libraries in each local government, among other infrastructures.
