Former NAWOJ Chair Ayobola Ipinlaiye Extends Ramadan, Lent Support to Vulnerable Groups

Date: 2026-03-02

Ayobola Ipinlaiye, former Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kwara Chapter, has distributed food items to widows, people living with disabilities and other indigent groups in Ilorin.

Speaking with newsmen at the event, Ipinlaiye, who is the Founder of the Help Women Foundation, said the distribution marked the "Second Round 2.0" of the foundation's outreach for the holy months of Ramadan and Lent.

She explained that the foundation had earlier supported 50 people living with disabilities across the state, noting that the latest intervention was targeted at widows within the community.

According to her, the foundation is committed to demonstrating compassion to vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities and disadvantaged women.

"The foundation is all about giving a helping hand to the needy. We give out foodstuffs and money to the very poor and vulnerable.

"We intend to continue to reach out to indigents during this holy month," she said.

In her remarks, Prophetess Iyabo Ayodele, Coordinator of the Ayomoro Widows Group in Kwara, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture.

She observed that many widows face economic hardship following the loss of their breadwinners and therefore require sustained support.

Ayodele prayed for the continued success of the foundation and urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to extend similar assistance to vulnerable members of society.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items distributed included rice, millet, guinea corn and semovita, among others.
