Emir Gifts Giant Cow to Kwara United in Joyous Celebration of Cup Glory
In a heartfelt gesture of support and celebration, the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has presented a large cow to Kwara United Football Club in recognition of their historic victory in the President Federation Cup.
On Tuesday, the Emir honoured the victorious Harmony Boys at his palace in Ilorin, where he praised their resilience, discipline, and determination throughout the tournament.
He urged the team to build on this achievement as they prepare for forthcoming FA Cup and Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaigns, stating, "All eyes are now on you. You are the focal point of Kwara State following this triumph, which has eluded us since the state's creation."
The Emir encouraged the players to remain focused and emulate the late Rashidi Yekini, a Kwara-born football icon whose steadfast dedication to the sport continues to inspire.
He also dedicated the victory to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, acknowledging the state government's vital support and provision of resources that facilitated the team's participation and success.
The delegation to the Emir's palace was led by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, alongside Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, Club Secretary, Wale Obalola and other top management staff.
Kwara United's triumph at the President Federation Cup marks a milestone achievement, ending a 49-year title drought, and has positioned the club as a beacon of hope and pride for football development in the state.
