President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria has approved the constitution of the boards of the 15 Federal Government University Teaching Hospitals and the National Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC).

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the date for the formal inauguration of the boards will be announced in due course.

The membership of the board are for Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria: Alhaji Shuaibu Oyedokun as Chairman. Other members are .Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Paninga, Makanjuola Ogundipe, Dr. Princewill Chike, Dr. Ishiaka Salman, and Dr. Mairo MandaraMember

Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano: Dr. Samaila Saidu Sambawa as Chairman. Other members are Col. David Imauze (Rtd), Dr. Dennis Ekumaninkama, Ali Tukur Gantsa, Dr. Shah Azuh Okorie and Mr. Adindu Alex Eze.

Otubor Okhae Teaching Hospital, Irrua:  Bobolayefa Debekeme as Chairman. Other members of the board are Dr.( Mrs) Esugie Abebe, M. Zakariya Lagu and Dr. Mrs. Dorcas Onuminya, Mr. Ann Alu and Dr. Fidelis Babep.

Mathew Urhoghide (FSPN)is to head the board of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife. Other members are Dr. Basir Sule, Mrs. Funke Victoria Emmanuel, Alhaji Zubairu Abdul-Hamid, Dr. George Okpagu, and Mrs Patricia O. Aina

University of Calabar Teaching Hospital has Dr. Steve Oru as Chairman. Senator Umar Tafida, Engr. Umar Mohammed Goni, Alh. S. Ola Apena, Prof Stanley Okolo, and Dr. Ekuma Orji-Uzor.

Dr. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu, daughter of late Obafemi Awolowo heads the board of .University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. Other members are Mrs. Joyce Bozimo, .Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, Dr. Marksen Amaegbe, and Pharm. Dan Onwu

University Teaching Hospital, Benin has Major General A.B. Mamman as Chairman. Other members are  Zakariya’u Galadima, Hon. Ayobami G. Ola-Oluwa, Gabriel Oyaderrekumo Yabaka, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwobodo, Mrs Comfort Otera Chigbue,

University Teaching Hospital, Enugu has Dr. Udeogu Chudi Job as Chairman. Other members are Dr. Ade Dosunmu, Mr. Ibe Ejiogu, Charles Nwigbo, Prof. S.K. Gyoh, and Mr. Ekpeyong Oku Ita.

University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan has Col. Austin Okwudiri Akobundu (Rtd) as Chairman. Listed as members are Alh. Bello Dange, Alh. Ladi Hassan, Prof. Simon Ogamdi, and Prof O.A. Ashiru.

University College Teaching Hospital, Lagos has Dr. Segun Ogundimu as Chairman. Others listed as members are Dr. Valentine Attah, Dr. L.M. Soni, Pharm. Samaila Burga, Dr. Mike Ileka and Dr. N.D. Ukaegbu.

University Teaching Hospital, Jos board Is to be headed by Prof. Emmanuel Ameh. Others are Prof. Margaret Lodam, Elder Joju Fadairo, Lyndia Ikiomoton, Elder V.V. Mowoe and Prof. Emmanuel Adekeye.

University Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri has Dr. Willy Inoma Ogbeide as Chairman. Others on the board are Sen. Hassan Nasiha, Dr. Michael Jimeta, Dr. Vincent Ushie, Prof. Isa Hussanini, and Mr. A. C.Adiele.

Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto has Hon. Simon Yunusa Dogari as Chairman, while Nuru Mohammed Dankadai, Mr. Bode Obanla, Chief Obinna Ogba, Prof. Sadiq Wali and Dr. Lawal Jato Zarami.

Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi board to be chaired by Professor Ivara Esu, whike Barr. Laila Buhari, Mallam Yunus Abdulrahman, Barr. Frank Ejike Oranusi, Dr. Hassana Darma and Dr. S. O. Ebigwei.

University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State has Mrs Olajumoke Anifowoshe as Chairman whie Alh. Sani Saidu Fago, Muh’d H. Envulanza, Anthony O. Vewham, Dr. Mike Ogbalu and Otunba Solomon Oladunni.

According to the statement, each of the Boards of the Teaching Hospitals shall also have the following Institutional Representatives as members: The Chief Medical Director of the Hospital; Representative of the Federal Ministry of Health; Representative of the Senate of the Associate; University â€" Member; The Dean of the Medical School or the Provost; College of Medicine of the associate University; Representative of the Ministry of Health of the  State in which the Teaching Hospital is situate; The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital concerned; Representative of the Vice- Chancellor of the associate University.

Moreover, the board of National Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) was also announced to be headed by Prof John Ibru, while other members are Pharm.
