Kwara Government Reiterates Commitment to Student and Youth Welfare Initiatives
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting students and youths through welfare, education and development initiatives across the state.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Ndanusa Shehu, stated this when he received members of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Student Support Group (AASSG) in Ilorin.
Ndanusa said the administration had recorded significant achievements across various sectors, particularly in initiatives targeted at youths.
He said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had demonstrated the ability to identify development priorities and determine how and when they should be addressed.
The commissioner described the administration's achievements as evidence of its commitment to the growth and development of Kwara.
He urged the group and other stakeholders to continue supporting the administration and communicating its programmes, particularly to students and youths who had benefited from government interventions.
The Chairman of the Kwara State Youth Technical Working Committee, Comrade Uthman Alapansanpa, encouraged members of the group to work diligently and play their roles effectively in supporting government programmes and policies.
The Coordinator of AASSG, Comrade Jimoh Dauda, said students in the diaspora and those studying outside Kwara State were also supporting the administration in recognition of its interventions in the education sector.
Dauda particularly highlighted the increase in bursary support for students, saying the initiative had helped reduce their financial burden.
He said the group comprises students from various tertiary institutions within and outside Kwara and is committed to mobilising students and youths in support of the administration's development agenda.
The group also expressed its willingness to support the government in the forthcoming election of Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, while reaffirming its commitment to constructive youth and student participation in the political process.
