Date: 2022-09-13

The Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Prof. Muhammed Akanbi, has congratulated Prof. Wahab Egbewole, on his appointment as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin).

This is contained in a statement issued by the Acting Director, University Relations, Dr Saeedat Aliyu, on Monday in Ilorin.

”Prof. Egbewole, a professor of Jurisprudence and International Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has served in many offices and contributed in many cardinal areas of University administration.

”His erudition and service known nationally and internationally makes him excellently placed to lead the administration of the institution,” Aliyu said.

She further extended the felicitations of KWASU to her sister university on the appointment of an experienced administrator as vice-chancellor.

”We hope that Prof. Egbewole's administration will further cement the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship between the institutions,” the statement said.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Egbewole emerged as the 12th vice chancellor of Unilorin on Sept. 8, as announced by the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, Malam Abidu Yazid.

Egbewole is expected to take over from his outgoing vice-chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, whose tenure ends on Oct. 15.
