Date: 2017-04-06

SPOKESPERSON, Kwara State Police Command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi has called for dialogue and mutual considerations to end farmers/herdsmen clashes in the country.

Okasanmi in a paper titled "Effects of Terrorism/Kidnapping on Society", he presented at a one- day Security, Public Safety Sensitization and Awareness Creation Conference held in the state, said majority of the herdsmen causing violence are nomadic, and assured that Security agencies would stem the security threat as it was done to terrorism. He noted that terrorism and kidnapping can be tackled if Nigerians could shun sectional, political, ethnic, religious and selfish interests.

The state's Police PRO called for proper funding of all the security agencies in order to face the current realities and challenges confronting the country. He, however, cautioned against inordinate quest for quick wealth, selling and consumption of illicit drugs and stressed the need for parents and guardians to impact positively on their children.

In his paper titled, "the Effect of Public Vandalism in the Economy", the Assistant Commandant, Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, Sherrif Adelodun Kasim, said oil pipeline vandalism had affected the countrys economy negatively, saying that several attacks on oil pipelines in the Niger Delta region is a daily huge lost to the country.

Kasim warned against all forms and acts of vandalism that are inimical to the survival of the nation, adding that Nigeria belongs to all.

Also, the Training Officer of Red Cross in the state, Dr. Shuaib Oniyangi, cautioned against giving unconscious person water, saying that by doing so, it may lead to the death of the victim.
