Fed Cup: Kwara United talks tough ahead of Rangers test
General Manager of Kwara United, Haruna Maigidansanma and his players have vowed that the team will beat Enugu Rangers in a Federation Cup round of 16 clash at the Area 3 Pitch in Abuja on Thursday.
"I have always believed in these boys and I'm sure they will not disappoint on Thursday."
"We are going into the game on a high having won back to back matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League."
Also reacting to the match, one of the most experienced players in the team, Dare Ojo said that there will be no hiding place for Rangers.
"We are very confident going into this game," a confident Ojo said. "We want to play on the continent next season and this is one of the few opportunities available to fulfil our ambition." "We want to take a step forward in our season starting from Thursday, Ojo added. Another player in his reaction, Halilu Obadaki maintained that the team is gathering momentum needed to finish the season well. The overlapping left full back stated that they want to surpass the quarter finals record of the 2010 edition of the competition.
In similar vein, Abubakar Yusuf said the spirit in the team is high and that the attitude will help them on Thursday in Abuja when they lock horns with Rangers. "We are very determined these days, many of us can't believe where the spirit in camp is coming from."
"We have been bringing down the so-called big teams recently which I believe Rangers is one of them.
"Rangers will surely fall on Thursday I can assure you," the former ABS FC defender added.
It would be recalled that Kwara United defeated a non-league side ABU Zaria 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 scoreline during normal time at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna in the round of 32.
They had earlier defeated Akwa Starlets in the round of 64 after emerging the state champions.
