Kwara CAN not out to discredit anyone - Chairman

Date: 2015-03-14

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kwara State Chapter, Professor Timothy Opoola has dismissed the allegation that the leadership of the Christian body is out discredit any candidate or party, emphasizing that CAN is a religious body and is not involved in political affairs.

Opoola made the submission in an exclusive telephone interview with RayPower’s Oyiza Jeje.

He also cleared the air on the seven billion Naira bribe allegedly given to the Christian body by the presidency.

Reacting to the seminar held recently causing misgivings in some quarters in CAN, the chairman explained, that the seminar was on the state of the church.

Following the alleged seminar or film show held at St. Barnabas Church in Ilorin, Christian Political Office holders in Kwara State in a communique condemned the action of CAN leadership and asked if Kwara Chapter of the association had become an arm of a political party.
