OPINION: My Take on Sen. Ajibola's Guber Ambition. By Yinka Dallas

Date: 2014-07-15

For those that keep sending me facebook messages through my inbox, GSM sms and direct calls about Senator S.S Ajibola's Kwara State Governorship ambition.

I have said it time without number that Sen. S.S Ajibola's 11 years in the Senate so far is what I tagged "11 years of wasted opportunity for Kwara South Senatorial District".

It is not time of opportunity that is to determine success and achievements in office, it is disposition. If a senatorial seat of 12 years can be insufficient to make impacts in people's life, when 12 days can be more than enough for many, however, I don't think Governorship seat of 2 tenure of 8 years can make any impact if such opportunity comes Ajibola's way.

I remember the First benefits of failure, which is, "If you do fail, then you start to learn those things that are not workable, such as this kind of day dreaming and unworkable ambition".

To my brothers, sisters and comrades in Kwara state, Kwara South in particular, to make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants not just an observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain. Please let us all participate fully in the coming PVC exercise by INEC, so as to prove our worth to elements like SS Ajibola come 2015.
