400 Get Tree Medical Operations
No fewer than 400 people have so far undergone free medical operation jointly organised by the state Government and Rotary Club International.
The free medical treatment which began last Wednesday at the Sobi Specialist Hospital, Alagbado, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital is scheduled to last for two weeks.
Speaking with the journalists at the hospital yesterday, one of the Indian Doctors handling the operation exercise, Doctor Harjeet Singh explained that all the operations carried out were successful pledging that all people registered for the exercise will be considered before the stipulated period of the exercise.
Singh who identified power failure as the only constrain that is hindering their service.
Also speaking, the Doctor, Medical Services,state Ministry of Health, Doctor Isaac Oludipe said the exercise was designed to capture 1,000 indigent patients especially those suffering from hearing, Goitre, Cataract, Glaucoma, Fibroid among others.
Also speaking with newsmen, one of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Omoniyi Taiye, who was suffering from Hernia, thanked God that her operation was successful and expressed appreciation to the organizers of the free operation for saving his life.
Most of the patients benefited from the operation had been transferred to some selected satellite hospitals such as Center Igboro Hospital, Ajikobi Cottage Hospital and Adewole Cottege Hospital for recuperation to de congest the wards of Sobi Specialist hospital.
