Third Estate Group, a non-governmental organization, has generated N6 million to rehabilitate primary schools in Ilorin emirate, Kwara State.

The contribution was made at the group's annual general meeting where new executive members were also elected for the next two years, a statement by the group's publicity secretary Yusha'u Abdulhameed Agaka said.

The fund is meant to improve the infrastructure of the schools, the newly elected chairman of the forum, Dr Yusuf Lawal said. "Children would absorb and comprehend what they are taught better when they learn in conducive and pupil-friendly environment," he said.

Lawal said the group believed that individuals and groups could support their government and communities by contributing to developmental efforts that could improve the living conditions of the people.

Those elected at the meeting of the forum included Lawal, chairman; Malam Ahmed Bolaji Nagode, 1st vice chairman; Dr Ibrahim Gambari, 2nd vice chairman; Dr Isiaka A. Yahaya, secretary general; Mr Shehu Aladire, treasurer and Agaka, publicity secretary.
