KWASAA Sets Deadline as Statewide Crackdown on Illegal Billboards Begins Monday
The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has announced plans to commence a comprehensive statewide enforcement exercise targeting unapproved billboards, banners, posters, and corporate branding across all three senatorial districts of Kwara State.
Disclosing the development in Ilorin, the General Manager of KWASAA, Mr Toba Adeyeye, noted that the crackdown has become necessary to address the widespread and indiscriminate erection of outdoor advertisement structures without official authorization or fee clearance.
KWASAA has issued a final window for regulatory compliance, directing political aspirants, political parties, commercial enterprises, corporate bodies, shop owners, religious organizations, and outdoor advertising practitioners to regularize their structures immediately.
The agency announced Friday, November 7, 2026, as the final deadline for all affected entities to resolve outstanding authorizations and clearances.
Beginning Monday, November 10, 2026, mobile enforcement teams will deploy across Kwara Central, Kwara North, and Kwara South to dismantle non-compliant structures and sanction defaulters in accordance with the enabling laws of the agency.
Mr Adeyeye reaffirmed that the core mandate of KWASAA remains maintaining an organized, safe, and visually orderly environment while ensuring strict adherence to state advertising regulations.
