The Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. AbdulRahman Babatunde Ladan, has joined the ongoing rescue operation at Ile Oyan Masalasi Gogoro, Popo Giwa, Ilorin, where a building at No. 41 Popo Giwa Street, beside Gogoro Mosque, collapsed, trapping several family members under the rubble.

Ladan joined men of the Federal and Kwara State Fire Services, who are leading the rescue efforts, while security operatives, including personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC and other relevant agencies, are on the ground to maintain law and order and support the operation.

One person, identified as the father of the family, has so far been rescued, while his wife and children remain trapped under the collapsed structure as rescue efforts continue.
