Governor AbdulRazaq Completes Virgin Oke Ogun Road, Linking 10 Rural Communities
The Kwara State Government has announced the successful completion of the Oke Ogun road in the Ilorin South Local Government Area, marking a significant milestone in Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's rural infrastructure drive.
The project, which was previously a "virgin road" (an undeveloped track), has been transformed with standard drainage systems and high-quality asphalt. This strategic route now provides a critical link for approximately ten rural communities, connecting them directly to Ganmo in the Ifelodun Local Government Area.
By opening up this axis, the administration aims to foster greater inclusion and socio-economic development at the grassroots level. The completion of the Oke Ogun road is expected to enhance mobility, reduce travel logistics, and also boost growth.
The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, noted that the project was executed in strict compliance with engineering standards to ensure durability. This project is part of a broader statewide "Urban Renewal and Rural Access" agenda, which saw the delivery of over 80 road projects in the latter half of 2025 alone.
