Kwara State to Represent Nigeria at International Debate Competition in Turkey

Date: 2024-11-28

After emerging victorious at the recently concluded Presidential Debate Competition, Kwara State has earned the honour of representing Nigeria at the upcoming International Debating Competition in Turkey.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Professor Sheu AbdulRaheem Adaramaja, announced this achievement at the Ilorin International Airport upon returning from Abuja, where the debate was held.

Adaramaja attributed the success to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's unwavering commitment to investing in basic education, dedicating the victory to the Governor.

“We are extremely exited to have brought home the trophy again for the third time in row. This mean kwara shall be representing Nigeria at the international debating competition to be held in Turkey”, Adaramaja said.

“We dedicate the winning to our governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his supports at all time. Without him, there will be no SUBEB. We want to show to the world that his investment in the basic education of the state is beginning to yield positively.”

LEADERSHIP recalls that Team Kwara had represented Nigeria at the international debating championship in Dubai and Serbia in the year 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Adaramaja also thanked the SUBEB management, the pupils' coaches for their unwavering commitment, and the entire Kwara teachers for their dedication and commitment to duties.

Meanwhile, the national president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive (IEDPU), Alh AbdulMumini AbdulMalik, has saluted the academic resourcefulness of the victorious Kwara State contingent to the presidential debate in Abuja.

AbdulMalik, in a statement signed by IEDPU publicity secretary, Nurudeen Ibrahim, said that members of the contingent not only gave a very good account of themselves but also boosted the alluring image of the state at the national level.

The IEDPU president, who congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq on the feat recorded by the Kwara team, said that the achievement of the team had shown that the future of the state is bright.

He also congratulated the Chairman of the KWSUBEB , Prof. Adaramaja, for piloting the debate team to victory.
