Late Senator Rafiu Ibrahim: Kwara PDP Forms Committee for 41-Day Fidau Prayer

According to a News report from New Telegraph, The Kwara State People's Democratic Party (PDP) has formed a 10-member committee to organise a special 41-day post-mortem prayer in honour of the late Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.

Senator Ibrahim, who represented Kwara South Senatorial District in the 8th Senate and chaired the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, passed away on April 17, 2024.

The committee will be chaired by the Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Owolabi. Other members include Hon. Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode, Hon. Mohammed Abdumumeen, Hon. Gabriel Kannanjogun, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara, Hon. Mustapha Kabir Olanrewaju, Hon. Abegunde Margaret, Hon. Princess Segilola Abdulkadir, Alhaji Yusuf Morocco, and Audu Jubril.

The committee is responsible for recommending activities and arrangements for the 41-day Firdau prayer and is expected to submit its report by Tuesday, 21st May.

In a statement by the PDP spokesman, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the late Senator was described as a politician with a human touch. Senator Ibrahim passed away after a brief illness in an Abuja hospital and was buried the same day according to Islamic rites at the Muslim Cemetery, Osere, Ilorin.
