Stakeholders Emphasize Education as Foundation for Societal Transformation
According to a news report from Nigerian Tribune, education stakeholders in Kwara State gathered to celebrate academic excellence and underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping future leaders and societal transformation.
During the recognition event at Cherubim and Seraphim Secondary School, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, the chief operating officer of Quick Access, Bolanle Ojo, reiterated the organisation's commitment to education as a cornerstone of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda. Mrs Ojo highlighted the importance of supporting academic excellence as a means of giving back to society.
Four outstanding students from Senior Secondary School (SSS) 1 and 2 were honoured with cash awards of N100,000 each for their exceptional performance in Mathematics and Economics. Notable among them were Ampitan Deborah, recognised as the best student in Mathematics, and Ibrahim Olayemi Aishat, lauded for excellence in Economics.
Additionally, Bello Adesewa Susan and Isiaku Serah Mercy, distinguished as the top performers in Mathematics and Economics at SSS2, respectively, were also recipients of the prestigious cash awards.
The CEO of Quick Access highlighted the company's vision to transform rural areas into urban centres through a unique credit system, enabling property ownership over a 10-year period.
Expressing gratitude, the school principal, Mrs Folashade Abifarin, thanked Quick Access Micro and Macro Limited for their generous support, emphasising the significant impact of the cash awards on the students' academic journey.
In light of the event, Mrs Abifarin appealed to the government to take decisive action to safeguard the integrity and value of education, ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
The ceremony, attended by parents, educators, community leaders, and education stakeholders, underscored the collective commitment to nurturing academic excellence and fostering the development of future leaders.
