KWST GOVT COMMISERATES WITH THE VICTIMS OF IPATA MARKET FIRE DISASTER

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described the fire disaster at Ipata Market as disheartening.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, expressed this during an on the spot inspection of the Ipata Market fire disaster.

The Governor said the welfare of the people remain paramount and promised everything would be done to prevent a recurrence. According to him, the relevant government agencies will initiate relief measures for victims.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaja Arinola Lawal said it was a relief that no life was lost in the inferno.

Babaloja of Ipata Market, Mallam Dauda Omolabi Owura described the incident as a terrible lose. Dauda said many cattle were killed in the incident while some ran away. He pleaded to the government to come to their aid.
