The contingents thanked the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello for providing them with security men who led the six buses and one ambulance that conveyed them from Abuja to Ilorin on Sunday. They were also served free breakfast while on the 7 hours journey.

Having rested for hours, the athletes are ready for the screening which is commenced on Monday morning at the Multipurpose Hall, University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The athletes through the support of the sports associations have been in an open camp for few months preparing ahead of the Games but were officially put together for a week in a close camping at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.

With their preparations ahead of the 5th National Youth Games, it is no doubt, that the athletes aimed higher than what FCT achieved last year where they ended in the 11th position on the final medals table.
