Eid-el-Kabir: Ajia urges Kwarans to pray for peace

As Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-Kabir across the globe, a 2019 governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, has urged residents of the state to pray for peace and tranquility in the state.

He particularly admonished them not to be despaired but work collectively as an entity through which the potentials of the state can be harnessed for the good of all.

In a statement issued in Ilorin to mark this year's Eid-el-Kabir festivities, Ajia, who is also the founder of Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim Foundation, implored Muslims to reflect on the theme revolving around the event, which typifies sacrifice, humility, devotion and piety as demonstrated between Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Ismail in accordance with divine will.

The governorship hopeful said the development of any society is the responsibility of both the government and the masses, pointing out that true believers must reflect on the teachings embedded in the festival.

Ajia appealed to the citizens to have confidence in the leadership, because it was his belief that all hope is not lost.

He congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari and Muslim faithful in Kwara State for joining the rest of the world in celebrating the epoch making event and urged them not to rest on their oars in praying for leaders.

"We join the rest of Muslims to celebrate this year's Eid-el-Kabir. We congratulate our people for the journey so far. Your expectations might not have been met, but surely there would be light at the end of tunnel.

"No matter the situation we find ourselves, it behooves on us to pray for those leading us. Whatever actions and inactions they take, we should be up and doing in assisting them with our prayers.

"Though we deserve better than what we are getting now, we still need to work together as an entity to be able to solve our problems by ourselves.

We should not be despaired but continue to have hope that all is going to be well for us", the statement added.
