Date: 2017-07-08

The Kwara South senator, Senator Dr. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, has appealed to Ilofa and Odo-Owa communities in Oke-Ero local government area of Kwara state to embrace peace and unity.

Senator Rafiu made the call on his visitation to Monarchs of the two communities. The law maker emphasised that living together of the two communities was a divine arrangement by the Almighty.

While calling for love and unity to ensure a peaceful coexistence among the communities, Senator Rafiu commended the quick intervention of the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed (Sai Maigida) led administration to restore peace in the areas and to prevent future reoccurrence of such communal clash between the two communities.

The Senator urged the Monarchs and the people of the communities to continue to cooperate with the state government in restoring peace and harmony that the communities are known for.

The Senator, therefore, condoled with the traditional leaders and the family members of the victims of the clash, especially those who lost their lives in the crisis. He prayed to God Almighty to grant the deceased eternal rest.
