FG Should Decentralise N-Power Payment

Date: 2017-03-20

The Federal Government have again been advised to decentralize the N-Power system, to provide the states with the opportunity to identify their challenges based on peculiarities.

These were words of the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Empowerment to the Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Zakariyyau Babatunde when Kwara Gong paid him courtesy visit in his office today as a way to show concern on the ongoing recomputation exercise for those who have not been paid amongst the beneficiaries.

Responding on behalf of the state Focal Person, the SSA commended the federal government for the empowerment initiative and urged the authority to ensure a smooth running of the programme by giving the state the opportunity to have domestication on the payment to enhance sustainability.

Speaking further, he stressed that they are attending to those whose data appeared on the portal but were not paid. And there would be need to recompile the data of those who could not access their names on the portal at the moment.

When asked on the measure taken to assist those who came from far distance, particularly the Kwara North dwellers, Alhaji Saka said he has instructed his team to ensure they attend to beneficiaries who came from far distanced part of the state first.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke with Kwara Gong, Mr Lawal Mukaila, expressed delight at the way and orderliness with which the exercise is been carried out, but urged the federal government to put some measure in place to avoid reoccurrence of omission or exclusion of data on the portal.
