Kwara Govt. Moves To Fix Roads Across StateThe Kwara state government has assured residents of Ilorin the state capital that filling of potholes within the metropolis will be completed by January 2017 and that the exercise would move to other parts of the state thereafter.

The state's Commissioner for Works, Aro Yahya, gave the assurance while inspecting road projects in the state capital.

While expressing satisfaction that the exercise which began two months earlier had yielded much success, he gave the assurance that other parts of the state would begin to feel the impact of the exercise in the new year.

"About two months ago, we started the rehabilitation and patching of potholes in the metropolis and we have recorded some tremendous progress. "If you go to Police road, we have finished it. We did sectional overlay around university Tanke road, that one is not potholes parse but large damaged area of the road.

"We still have highlights of potholes to do in that axis which we plan to do any moment from now. "Aside these roads, we have also started cutting some areas and any moment from now we will start filling them.

"As I am speaking with you now, our people are working on the Kwara State Polytechnic road and by tomorrow, they will start filling the potholes with asphalt and we should be through in that axis soon,"he said.
