Kwara SWAN congratulates Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike

Date: 2016-05-02

The Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike for his successful investiture as the Nigeria Pillar of Sports.

In a release signed by the Chairman, Bunmi Adedoyin and the Secretary, Jimoh Bashir, they calso commended the national SWAN for considering former Pillar of Sports in Kwara for such an honour.

Chief Ejidike was appointed as the Pillar of Sports in Kwara before he was identified and recommended as the Nigeria Pillar of Sports by national SWAN.

'We congratulate our former Pillar of Sports in Kwara for his elevation to the national level, and we pledged our support', the release said.

The release reminded Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike that the task of championing the cause of sports development in Nigeria is enormous, promising their unalloyed support to the Nigeria Pillar of Sports. They also charged all stakeholders in Nigeria to rally round Chief Ejidike, whom they described as a great philanthropist.

Chief Ejidike is the fourth Pillar of Sports in Nigeria after late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, late Chief Dokun Abidoye and Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, who was removed in office for what national SWAN termed non-performance. 'We wish our former Pillar of Sports in Kwara a successful reign as the Nigeria Pillar of Sports', the release added.
