The Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa (FEDPOFFA), in Kwara State, Dr Ayodele Olaosebikan, has urged to workers and students of the institution to join hands with the Management to sustain peace and progress on campus.

She spoke during an interactive session between the management and workers of the institution.

Olaosebikan, an expert in Communication for Development, served as Deputy Rector under the former rector, Dr Mufutau Olatinwo, whose tenure ended February 14. Her appointment as Acting Rector was approved by Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, last month.

The Acting Rector underscored the need for commitment, punctuality and excellence. She admonished the workers and students to help sustain peaceful coexistence on campus.

To sustain the tempo of development the institution has enjoyed over the years, Dr Olaosebikan has commenced the relocation of the Library and Information Department to Main Campus. The Sports Unit has also been directed to start using the modern facilities at the Main Campus.

Born in June 1959, Dr. Olaosebikan attended ECWA Girls' Secondary School, Omu-Aran (1973-1977); School of Basic Studies, Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin; studied English at the University of Ibadan (1980-1983), and the University of Port Harcourt for Post-Graduate Diploma in Education.

She earned a Master's degree in Communication Arts from UI, and PhD in Communications from Atlantic International University, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America.v

Olaosebikan, who joined FEDPOFFA in 1992 as Lecturer I, has served as Head of the Languages Department and Dean, Centre for Continuing Education now Institute of Continuing Education.
