Share/Tsaragi Crisis: Panel To Interrogate Monarchs In Their Palaces
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry on the Share/Tsaragi communal crisis in Kwara state said that it would take the evidences of the Etsu Tsaragi and Olupako of Share in their respective palaces for convenience and security reasons.
The commission has also ordered that the Makama of Tsaragi and one Alhaji Shiroko, as well as two others, appear before it on Monday February 1, 2016.
At its sitting yesterday, seven witnesses testified and were cross-examined by the counsel to the commission, Barr. Ayodeji Ibrahim, and the counsel to the Share community, Barr. Adeboye Oluwaseye.
It would be recalled that the Tsaragi community had earlier expressed dissatisfaction over the composition of the commission and refused to send representatives to the sitting.
Meanwhile, in his prayer, an indigene and youth leader of Share community, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Ajibola, appealed to the commission to assist in finding lasting solutions to the persistent boundary dispute between the two communities.
Similarly, Rev. Samuel Babatunde Kolapo of the United Missionary Theological Church, UMTC, Share, claimed that the entire property of his church valued at N 9.65 million was damaged by the Tsaragi youths in the crisis.
