Date: 2014-10-10

The founder of  Mike Omotosho Foundation, Dr Mike Omotosho, on Friday  inaugurated  a N5 million micro credit loan scheme for women in Kwara.

Speaking at the inauguration  in Ilorin, Omotosho said the foundation in partnership with the PDP would also  train 300 youths from Kwara South Senatorial District on computer skills.

Omotosho is also the North Central Coordinator of the  Jonathan Actualisation Movement.

Omotosho, who presented  10,000 posters to the Kwara  PDP Chairman, Chief  Iyiola Oyedepo, said  the foundation through the party would  offer micro credit loans to 250 women to boost their businesses.

The  women, he said, would be drawn from the 42 wards in Irepodun, Ekiti, Oke Ero and Isin Federal Constituency   of the state.

The World Bank consultant  also said that the seed fund for the interest free loans would be increased to N10 million to cover the entire state.

He also said 126 students in Junior and Senior Secondary Schools   from the 42 wards in the federal constituency  would be given scholarship.

The philanthropist, who is eying the Federal House of  Representatives seat for  Irepodun, Ekiti, Oke Ero and Isin Constituency, said the foundation was partnering with the PDP  in order to impact positively  on the welfare of the people.

Oyedepo, in his remarks, commended  Omotosho for the gesture  while expressing the readiness  of the party  to  emerge victorious in the 2015 general elections.

He said the philanthropic gesture of  Omotosho was  unique, urging others to  emulate him in contributing their  quota to the socio-economic development of the state. (NAN)
