ACF Gets New Officials, Holds Economic Lecture
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has elected new Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Council (NEC). The new BOT and NEC will assume duties on February 18 after an inaugural ceremony to be chaired by former Head of State and chairman of the Board of Patrons, retired General Yakubu Gowon.
ACF's Deputy Publicity Secretary, Fati E. Ibrahim, said at a media briefing yesterday in Kaduna that at a joint meeting of the BOT and NEC held on January 16 in Kaduna, the list of newly elected officers was considered and approved.
She said members would in the Annual General Meeting on February 17 ratify the list of those elected. The tenure of the elected leaders of the BOT runs from 2014 to February 2020 while those of the NEC runs from February 2014 to February 2017 as provided for in the ACF constitution. In case of the NEC, officers on completion of their tenure of three years can seek re-election for second term only.
According to her, there will be a public lecture on the topic; 'Northern Nigerian Economy Free of Oil Revenue' during the inaugural ceremony to be delivered by Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Musdapher while the Chairman of Jaiz Bank PLC Umaru A. Mutallab, the Chairman/CEO Media Trust Limited Malam Kabiru Yusuf as well as the Kakakin Nupe and Chairman of the Leadership Group, Sam Nda-Isaiah, would serve as discussants.
