Kwara State Government has said that none of all the 28 on-going road projects it inherited from the immediate past administration and 38 ones it initiated on its own would remain uncompleted before the end of this year.

The State Commissioner for works, Abubakar Kannike, who said this while briefing newsmen on activities of his ministry in the last two years the present administration came on board said that the inherited road projects cover a length of about 256 kilometers while the new ones total 129 kilometers.

Kaninike said that many of the roads have already been completed while the completion of the remaining ones would not exceed this year.

He said that of the 28 inherited, 11 have been completed while another 11 would be completed by this May with the remaining six expected to witness completion before the end of the year.

He added that eight of the newly initiated 38 ones have been completed while works are expected to be rounded off on June 14, and the remaining 16 before the end of the year.

The commissioner disclosed that the government provided N5 billion for the completion of the inherited projects and that about N3.8billion has already been expended on the projects.

He explained that payment of about N3.1billion has already been made out of about N6.6billion earmarked for the new projects.
