Kwara Education Commissioner Monitors Common Entrance Examination, Lauds Digital Process
The Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2026 Common Entrance (Placement) Examination, describing the exercise as peaceful, well-coordinated and a reflection of the state's commitment to education reform.
Olohungbebe made the remarks on Saturday after monitoring the examination at selected centres, including Offa Grammar School, Offa; Ogele Secondary School in Asa Local Government Area; Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin; and other centres across the state.
The commissioner said the monitoring exercise enabled him to interact with parents, guardians, school proprietors and teachers on issues relating to examination payments, the processing of testimonials and other matters affecting the education sector.
According to him, the feedback received from stakeholders will help the government improve service delivery and strengthen education administration in the state.
He commended the orderly conduct of the examination and praised invigilators, officials of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development for ensuring a credible and hitch-free exercise.
Olohungbebe also lauded the state's digital examination process, noting that the digitalisation of the Common Entrance Examination, introduced by the Kwara State Government last year, has enhanced transparency, efficiency and the integrity of the placement process.
He said the initiative forms part of the government's broader efforts to modernise education administration and improve accountability across the sector.
The commissioner further acknowledged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's support for education reforms, stating that the administration's sustained investments have continued to improve learning outcomes and position Kwara among states embracing innovation in education.
He urged candidates to remain focused and uphold the values of honesty, discipline and excellence throughout the examination process.
