Date: 2026-07-30

Kursi Investments Limited has empowered residents of Eji-Dongari community in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State with a N100 million empowerment fund and healthcare support as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable community development.

The empowerment programme, held in Ilorin in collaboration with the Yahaya Seriki Foundation, attracted traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Kursi Investments Limited, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari, the company's General Manager, Yahaya Abdullahi Shina, said the initiative reflects the organisation's commitment to driving sustainable development in its host communities.

He explained that the company believes mining should create value beyond mineral extraction, stressing that its success is measured by the positive impact it has on the lives of people within its host communities.

Shina announced the disbursement of the N100 million empowerment fund to beneficiaries in Eji-Dongari, alongside healthcare support, describing the intervention as an investment in people rather than an act of charity.

Earlier, Halimah Gegele, who represented the company's Corporate Relations Department, said the programme demonstrates Kursi Investments' belief that responsible mining is not only about extracting mineral resources but also about creating lasting value for host communities.

She noted that Eji-Dongari has remained a reliable partner, adding that the community's trust, cooperation and peaceful relationship with the company have inspired several initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening their shared future.

Shina reaffirmed the company's commitment to responsible mining, environmental sustainability, inclusive development and continuous engagement with stakeholders. He also appreciated the community, traditional rulers and other stakeholders for their unwavering support.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Daudu of Eji-Dongari commended Kursi Investments Limited and its Executive Chairman, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari, for their sustained commitment to the development of the community.

The traditional ruler said the company and its chairman have consistently supported the community through various developmental initiatives over the years, beyond the N100 million empowerment fund and healthcare intervention unveiled at the event.

He also praised the cordial relationship between Kursi Investments and the Eji-Dongari community, assuring the company of the continued cooperation and support of the people.
