Kwara Govt, FADAMA Assist Farmers with N232m - Akanbi

About N232million has been spent on projects under FADAMA III being executed to assist some farmers in Kwara State.

The state project coordinator of FADAMA, Uthman Akanbi, on Thursday disclosed this to newsmen when he took the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Bode Olayemi, round for assessment of the projects which were funded through World Bank Assistance programme in conjunction with the state government

Akanbi said that about N100 milllion was spent in the first phase of the FADAMA III and N84 million in the second phase aside from N48 million, the counterpart fund from the state government.

He said that the beneficiaries include those who are into poultry, fishery, vegetable or tuber cropping, livestock among other aspects of agricultural practices.

He said the projects are pilots to stimulate others to join government’s drive towards agricultural transformation.
