Ilorin West LGA Partners Federal Ministry to Tackle Child Abuse and Labour Exploitation
Ilorin West Local Government and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment have partnered to combat child abuse and related issues through a collaborative initiative.
Hon. Shehu Abdulrahman Babatunde Ladan, Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, met with members of the Federal Ministry's Steering Committee on Child Labour. The delegation, led by Hajia Romoke Eletu (Local Government Representative), outlined the committee's objectives during a courtesy visit.
The committee's priorities include addressing critical issues such as child abuse, rape, and child hawking. They highlighted plans to achieve these goals through capacity-building programmes and strategic collaboration with security agencies to strengthen prevention efforts in the community.
Emphasizing the importance of local partnerships, the committee described Ilorin West Local Government as a vital stakeholder in the campaign against child abuse and a dependable ally in safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable children.
Hon. Ladan in his remark, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting the organisation, assuring them of genuine partnership and full cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of the proposed initiatives.
