Kwara State Appoints New Monarch for Kajola Community in Oke-Ero

The Kwara State Government has appointed His Royal Highness Oba Johnson Olajide Kehinde, a Fourth Class Monarch, as the new Edemarun of the Kajola Community in Oke-Ero Local Government Area.

According to the latest update from the state, the Honourable Commissioner officially presented the letter of appointment to the monarch at his office, ahead of the presentation of the staff of office. The formal event took place in the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development's conference room, with a significant turnout from the sons and daughters of Kajola Community.

As reported by the state, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, urged the new monarch to lead his people with empathy, equity, and a fear of God, while also being attentive to their needs.

Hon Bata who administered the oath of office to the new Edemarun of Kajola reiterated the huge respect and reverence that the present administration accords traditional institution in the state, noting that their wisdom and experiences is very essential in maintaining peace and stability in the state . He also expressed government’s commitment to further strengthen economic advancement, healthcare and other social services which will in turn provide an enabling environment for prosperity.

The Commissioner enjoined the monarch to work together with his people by ensuring he is always ready to not only lead but also provide solutions for them. In his words, “As the Royal Father of Kajola from Oke-Ero Local Government , Your role transcends beyond the boundaries of Kajola. You will be the representative of our collective heritage and culture. I have faith that you will serve as a beacon of hope and progress”.

Earlier in her speech, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs Iyabo Modupe Adekeye congratulated the new monarch and good people of Kajola. She applauded the kingmakers for a job well done without any rancor or disrupt of peace and stability in their community.

Mrs Adekeye further added that the new monarchs suggestions and advice will enhance the development of the state while also making assurances that the Ministry’s doors are wide open for any deliberation or discussion that will help the state in general.

Hon Olajire Bamgboye, a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing the Oke Ero constituency spoke on behalf of the people of Kajola appreciated the state government for giving room for a non biased selection of the new Edemarun and also expressed their readiness to always support government in whatever capacity.

The new Edemarun in his acceptance speech appreciated the state government for his appointment and their non interference in the selection procedure while it was on. He promised to lead his people to greatness while also assuring the state government of their maximum support. He also added that he will use his wisdom to always unite his people through justice, equity and fear of God.
