As reported by Daily Trust, the police in Kwara State have arrested a driver, Ajiro Kayode, who allegedly killed his employer, Abraham Babatunde, by striking him on the head with a plank. The suspect initially told the family that Babatunde had fallen inside his toilet and died in Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, revealed that on the night of August 20, 2024, at approximately 10:15 PM, Ajiro Kayode confessed to sneaking into Chief Abraham Babatunde's room and brutally assaulting him with a short, hard plank. The driver struck the deceased multiple times on the back of the head, leading to his death.
“To cover up the crime, Ajiro Kayode dragged Chief Abraham Babatunde's lifeless body into the toilet to create the false impression that he had accidentally fallen.”
