Summit University Offa, AEIRG, and Manchester Metropolitan University Discuss Collaborative Research Initiatives Under the REMARKABLE Grant
In an ongoing commitment to fostering academic excellence and enhancing research in Nigeria, the Advanced Engineering Innovation Research Group (AEIRG) of Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) welcomed Prof. Abiodun Musa Aibinu, the Vice-Chancellor of Summit University Offa, and Dr. Segun Popoola from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK.
Dr. Popoola's visit, a result of the REMARKABLE grant which encompasses these three universities among others, was pivotal in observing the various research outputs hosted in AEIRG's state-of-the-art facilities. The visit highlighted areas such as the Exhibition Room, the Accident Prevention Lab, the Pipeline Monitoring Lab, the NITDA Hub, and the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.
Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Popoola underscored the necessity of improving Nigeria's academic research quality. He stated that for Nigeria to cement its place in the global academic community, we must consistently produce world-class research.
Further, Dr. Popoola introduced several prospective areas for collaboration among the AEIRG, Summit University Offa, and MMU, all under the REMARKABLE grant umbrella. This collaboration aims to encourage mutual learning, groundbreaking innovations, and a vibrant exchange of knowledge, benefiting the academic landscapes of all involved nations.
Both universities, along with AEIRG, are optimistic about the future prospects this collaboration holds, setting the stage for a redefined era of global academic recognition and research breakthroughs.
