15,000 persons benefit from Ilorin Emirate COVID-19 palliative programme

No fewer than 15,000 vulnerable persons benefited from food items distributed by the Ilorin Emirate Council to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic. The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who announced this said the gesture was to provide succour to the less privileged.

He said the items distributed were purchased with the N58.5 million donation from prominent indigenes of the emirate. The emir thanked all those who contributed to the success of the programme, which he said was aimed at promoting unity and prosperity in the emirate.

"I wish to express my profound gratitude to the indigenes, residents and well -wishers of the Ilorin Emirate home and abroad who donated generously both in kind and cash towards the success of the Ilorin Emirate Palliative Fund."

I am pleased to inform you that the milestone recorded during the historic exercise has further confirmed our commitments to the promotion of love and unity in accordance to the dictates of Almighty and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PUBH)". He urged the people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwarans in general to always strive for peace, unity and to cohabit as brothers and sisters.
