Kwara North Lawmakers-Elect deny report of disunity in choosing candidate for the post of Speaker

Date: 2019-04-22

The Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG) has said all the eight state lawmakers-elect from Kwara North senatorial district are united and working together to ensure one of them emerge as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

The group in a statement issued on Monday by its Chairman, Comrade Musa Idris disclosed that there is no crack or disagreement among Kwara north state lawmakers-elect.

Idris noted that the group met with the Honourable Members Elect on the eighteenth of April, had a tete-a-tete and concluded on a way forward on the emergence of a Speaker from Kwara North.

While noting that that there are insinuations that some elders from Kwara North are sabotaging the speakership tussle for individual selfish interest of clinching a ministerial seat, Idris stated that such idea is dead on arrival and definitely not by the consent of this coalition.
