LG Pensioners Receive November Gratuity in Kwara

Date: 2018-12-12

Another set of one hundred Local Government pensioners on Monday 10th December, 2018 received their gratuity at the Local Government Pension Board, Ilorin.

Presenting the cheques, the Chairman Local Government Pension Board who doubles as the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Hajia Sarat Ibrahim Adebayo, commended the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for the regular approval of payment of the gratuity to the LG retirees.

She affirmed that the payment was made in good faith and it further shown the commitment of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to the welfare of the retirees in the state.

She noted that the dwindling allocation from the federation account was the main reason the LG Pension Board has been unable to pay for sometime now. She then assured the continuous payment as the allocation improves.

Hajia Sarat opined that for transparency, the National Union of Pensioners, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and other Labour Unions attended the monthly JACC meeting in Kwara where decisions on monthly allocation are taken.

She added that Governor Ahmed remained committed to the welfare of all staffers and pensioners in the State.

While appreciating the pensioners for their steadfast and belief in this administration, Hajia Sarat urged the pensioners to continue their support for Governor Ahmed as she gave them the assurance of continuous payment as the federal allocation improves.

The beneficiaries applauded Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for the release and approval of the payment of the gratuity to their members. They saluted the courage and commitment of Hajia Adebayo to the welfare of the local government retirees.
