NPFL: Kwara Utd moves to Anambra ahead new season

Date: 2017-12-29

Ahead of the January 14th kick off date for the opening matches of the 2017/2018 Nigeria professional football league season, Kwara United FC will today, Wednesday begin a close camp at the rojenny stadium Ogba, Anambra state.

A statement signed by the media officer of the club Abdul Waheed Bibire disclosed that the close camp became necessary to put finishing touches on the team, ahead of the January opening game against Niger Tornadoes of Minna at the main bowl of the Kwara state stadium complex Ilorin.

On the choice of Oba, the club President Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson said there are adequate facilities at the rojenny stadium, which guarantees maximum concentration and avoid distraction.

He said further that although government is yet to make fund available to the management, they took the bull by the horn in view of the assurances by government to release money to the team as soon as possible.

"I took the financial risk based on the peoples love for the club and noting will be too much to make them happy, Oladimeji submitted.

A total of registered 35 players are expected to be drilled for two weeks under the watchful eyes of the technical crew led by former Nigeria U-20 National Coach John Obuh. The tram is expected to return back to Ilorin after two weeks in Anambra
