Fidau of Herald NUJ scribe's father holds Wednesday

The fidau for the repose of the soul of Alhaji Ahmed Oloruko-Alfa Ahmed, father of the Secretary of The Herald Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kwara State, Mr Ahmed Abdullateef, will hold tomorrow (Wednesday) in Ilorin, the state capital.

The fidau will take place at Ita-Amodu Mosque, Ita-Amodu Area of Ilorin at 10am.

Until his death last Saturday, the late Alhaji Ahmed was the Muazhin (Ladani) of Ita-Amodu Mosque and died at the age of 80.

He had since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.

A statement issued in Ilorin by Barrister Tunde Ahmed on behalf of the bereaved family, said the Imam of Ita-Amodu, Alhaji Abdulraheem Abdulrahaman, will preside over the fidau.

The statement said arrangements have been concluded to ensure a hitch-free prayer session.
