Date: 2017-05-15

IMMEDIATE past Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, Kazeem Adekanye, on Saturday donated two sets of computers to Ansarul Islam Grammar School, Ijomu Oro.

Adekanye, had during the presentation of the computers at a special prayer organised by Ijomu-Oro community, said the donation was part of his contribution toward raising the standard of education in the area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prayer was organised in honour of Adekanye and the in-coming new TIC Chairman for the council, Chief Abiodun Ajiboye.

Adekanye said the challenges facing the education sector were too enormous for government alone to bear, adding that only the collective effort of stakeholders could ensure the desired transformation.

The former TIC Chairman canvassed the need for synergy and cordial relationship between parents, government and school authorities in order to move the sector forward.

Adekanye also used the opportunity to thank the executive and members of the party for their support and cooperation while his stewardship lasted.

He commended Gov Abdulfatah Ahmed and APC leaders in the state as well as Senate President Bukola Saraki for being sensitive to the plight of the people.

Adekanye listed the successful completion of Ijomu-Oro, Okerimi-Oro and Ipetu-Rore-Arandun roads as testimony to government's efforts at promoting the desired development at the grassroots.

Alhaji Bashir Adewara, the Chief Imam of Ijomu-Oro, who led the special prayer, urged those at the helms of the nation's affairs to imbibe the virtues of honesty and transparency in their dealings.

He also enjoined wealthy individuals to always extend assistance to the needy in the society for them to live comfortably.

"That gesture is needed for us to remain united as Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations, especially in the face of the nation's economic difficulties," Adewara said.
