Unilorin Political Science Dept to hold National Conference on Security
The Conference will hold between Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th of November at the Business Lecture Theatre (BLT), Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ilorin, beginning at 10 o'clock in the morning each day.
A statement issued by the Acting Head of the Department, Doctor Abdulrasheed Alada Muhammad said scholars and students of Political Science would utilise the National Conference to brainstorm on the state of the nation with emphasis on State, Governance and Insecurity.
It further explained that the Conference is fired by the need to continuously engage the state on governance and insecurity especially in finding a good recipe for crises in the country.
According to the statement, more than 70 conference abstracts have been received and the lead paper presenter is Prof. Emmanuel Ezeani of the Department of Political Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The keynote speakers, according to the statement are: Prof. Ayo R. Dumoye of Department of Political Science and International Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Prof. Hassan A. Saliu of the Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali will be the Chairman of the occasion and in that capacity, he will declare the conference open on Wednesday by 10 o'clock in the morning.
