The people of Gbale community in Edu Local Governement Area of Kwara State have decried the condition of the only bridge in the area, appealing to the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed to come to their rescue.

This was contained in a statement made available to our reporter and signed by one Adam Suleiman of Gbale Development Association on behalf of the community.

The release stated that the affected bridge, which links other communities in Kwara South such as Sagbe, Bishewa and Gbale, Macha and Zambufu road in Kwara North respectively, collapsed recently due to ecological problems.

The incident according to the statement, was occasioned by heaevy down pour.

It added that following the incident, the collapsed bridge has cut off many communities, which in turn caused economic challenges to the people of the affected communities.
