Kwara State Students And Government Disagree Over Non Payment Of Bursary
I read somewhere that the DG of NAKSS has openly declared his support for Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed 's inability to pay Kwara Students bursary, he even stated that he is the leader of NAKSS and all other correspondence from anywhere else should rejected...
My take...
What a contradiction!
How can the action of "one" person be generalized or tagged with the name of an association that represents over 3 million students, with elected representatives from different institutions in Nigeria?
This clearly depicts the inadequacy of the Kwara State Government..it clearly displays the height of the irresponsibility of Kwara State Government...if Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed has been so bungling to the extent of not been able to pay students bursary for five years why can't he address the issue from his office? Why can't the bursary and scholarship board address the issue? Where is the state's commissioner for tertiary education? Why can't Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed 's media aide issue a press release? Why are they using a zany like Muhammed Yusuf the DG of NAKSS (who is obviously blindfolded by the #100,000 his faction was given after their visit to the government house yesterday).
To realize that Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed has never paid students bursary or scholarship since the inception of his administration is not the only opprobrious issue here, but to see lucidly and unambiguously that the best way the government can handle a group of youths clamoring for the welfarism of students is to resort to tyranny and cheap politics is disheartening.
I do not blame Muhammed Yusuf and the treasurer of NAKSS who closed their eyes to the spirit of oneness, transparency, integrity and effective representation of Kwara Students for the bundles of Naira notes the state government has to give them. They are obviously hungry and Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed must have given them enough to spend for a few days...
Bursary is our right not a privilege! The National Association of Kwara State Students (national headquarters) led by AbdulHafiz Oyedepo will not give up in this struggle!
Gov AbdulFattah Ahmed and his people can continue to spend their money on the DG and the Treasurer ; these two people constitute just two out of more than 10 duely elected executive members and more than 30 senators representing different institutions in Nigeria.their opinion or stand do not hold water either legally or statistically!
Our 7 days ultimatum still holds!
We refuse to be intimidated!
OUR BURSARY MUST BE PAID
