The Kilanko zone of Fashion Designers Association, Akanbi III in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State has lauded Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of the state in the area of poverty alleviation and empowerment for artisans.

The Chairperson of the association, Mrs Felicia Wuraola Oderemi gave the commendation in an interview with The Herald during the association's annual thanksgiving prayer.

She stressed the need for the government to specifically consider fashion designers by extending its empowerment gesture to them.

This, according to her would enable members of the association within and outside the zone benefit from the government's good gesture.

Adewumi also praised Governor Ahmed for his efforts at ensuring religious harmony among the two major religions. "It is as a result of love and peaceful co-existence among the two religions that informed the possibility and success of today's prayer where Imams and Pastors were invited to pray for the association, the state and Nigeria as a whole".

She said the prayer was to appreciate God's protection and guidance on all members throughout the year.

The chairperson equally solicited government's support on land acquisition to build the association's secretariat.

The climax of the programme was the special prayer led by Imam Allah Lateef Mosque, Kilanko, Alfa Abdulwahab Magaji and Rev. Niyi Bolaji of chapel of Bell Assembly Church, Kilanko Area, and Ilorin.
